Dear Webmasters:
Thank you so much for your diligence in keeping this site viable. I'm certain that your efforts are appreciated. Keep up the good work.
My reason for writing:
I flew as the co-pilot on the Captain John Paul Jones, Jr. crew. After he was wounded, the crew was taken over by First Lieutenant Roger A. Kent.
I've just turned eighty and as you can see, time is growing short. When we were in Italy, we suffered two crashes. These happened in the summer and fall of 1944. One happened at Capodichino, Italy and the other on the Island of Vis, off the Dalmatian Coast.
There is NO offical record of the two mishaps. I would dearly love to find out the disposition of the two incidents. I am hoping that some member of the maintenance or a ground crew chief of the 723rd kept a log of the B-24s in his charge. Perhaps he noticed that his roster was missing a couple of planes after mission return.
I know it's a long-shot, but there is always that possibility. I don't know the S/Ns of either p

My father (Walter Pryseski) is pictured on Howard Selleck's crew. I'll have him send in some update information. His plane is not listed, but it is "Selleck's Sinners" and they flew over fifty missions including Ploesti and "Opperation Uppercut". He is loved by wife Helen, three sons, one daughter, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Does anyone remember a Major Franklin Reaves that might have flown missions on Bottoms Up? Please contact me at my home email of hrwtrader@aol.com as I am researching this for his daughter.

In reply to Robert Vanzee's comments below, I am one of the grand sons that Robert Byrd came to visit just a couple of months ago. I am very proud to have a man of his caliber as my grand father. I just heard form my mother yesterday, who had just talked to him, and he said he had just been flying last week. Not sure if it was a hang glider or a glider, but either way, I can only hope that his longevity, health, and spice for life are passed to myself and the rest of his decedents. I am quite proud to know he (and the rest of the hero's here) were instrumental in the freedom I enjoy today.

My cousin found this website and told me about it. My Grandfather is Regis F Woods, he was the tailgunner on "Swamp Rat." It is nice to be able to experience a little of what my grandfather was involved in. His service was something he was always proud of, but would never talk about. Seeing it myself brings back fond memories and makes me even prouder to be his grandson.

Just found some very usefull information about my Grandfather, Capt. William S. Doxey on your website. I am writing a novel about his experiences during the war. Sadly, he and his crew never made it back home after the war. They were shot down. My novel is about 'what would of happened' if his crew survived the crash. Maybe they did!!
Thanks,
Latham

Hello everyone. My name is Brian and my uncle is James E. Flynn KIA on Feb 23, 1944 over Steyr, Austria. My sister Valerie discovered this site and I am very thankful to her for finding it and also very greatful to the webmasters Graig and Mark for creating this site. My uncle has 2 surviving sisters. After Valerie found this site, her, my mom and I have begun to collect and photocopy all do #$@%! that my aunt has. I never realized just how fullfilling this could be. I spoke to my mom tonight and told her that while still trying to read all the information (letters, photos, military do #$@%! I have begun to feel that I am beginning to know my uncle whom I have never met. I know that we are all excited about trying to learn and post as much information as we can about my uncle James E. Flynn and share with everyone any information that we can. Thanks again for creating such a wonderful website and I am looking forward to being able to contribute to the future of this website.
