An interesting and nostalgic web site for me as I was an original 450thBG member as radio operator-waist gunner on the Toni Gayle which was one of five B-24's to complete 50 missions of the 722nd BS. See Biography.

My husband, George Garoian, was a member of the "Cottontails". He died in 1993 so he unfortunately can't appreciate this site. However, my son, my daughter and I certainly find it fascinating. Cathy Garoian

First I am glad you took up the sight and really enjoy it. My uncle Keith Wieland was with the 450th and served as a tail gunner on the Pistol Packin Mama. He was wounded over Austria in Feb. 1945 and sent home after 47 missions. He served with 2nd Lt. Victor A. Bahr, Edward Haworth, James Sheehan, George Spuda, Fred Sherril, Nicholas Mandella, Herbert Britt and Frank Clark. I'm not sure what Squadron he was with but I believe he was with the 723rd. A patch of his has a rabbit standing on a bomb being droped. If any one can tell me what Squadron he was with would really be appreciated, and if you have a picture of the Pistol Packin Mama that he served aboard I'd really like to see it and so would his sisters. I served in the US Army for 11 years, and in combat, before being injured, so I know what a #$@%! of a job these men did for us. I was serving when Keith passed away so I was never able to talk with him as much as I wanted too. Any info any one can give me would really help as I do #$@%! my family history. Once again I salute a

To Chester Zukowski- I wanted to let you know that you have been a great role model for me. I will never forget the sacrifices you so unselfishly made to keep our country free and safe.
