I'm seeking information on my father, Paul Eisler, a bombardier with the 450th/723rd squadron from late '44 through the end of the war. I dimly recall that the name of his plane was "Set 'em up," but not at all sure that's correct. He was a musician by training and probably would have been banging on a piano whenever he could find one. If anyone know anything at all about him -- or has any suggestions for tracking down people who do -- I'd be grateful for help.

My grandfather was a member of the 450th. His name was Lt.Col. Oliver H. King. Growing up I always heard these amazing tales of bravery and heroism that seemed all too fantastical. Now that I am older, I have come to realize that all of my bedtime stories were real accounts of real men, not stories from a book. I want to take this oppertunity to tell all of those involved in the 450th as well as their families, thankyou. I am in total amazement at the sacrifices these people have made. While my grandfather told me many stories, he very seldom mentioned himself. It wasen't until his funeral that I got to hear some of his high flying tales, so if anyone has any information on Lt.Col. Oliver H. King, please send me a line! Again, thankyou. @---}------

Unless we teach the children of today about patriotism, and share the stories of the struggles that have been necessary to obtain and maintain our freedom, we stand to let that freedom slip from our grasp. Continued freedom is the achievement of persons who share the stories of valor such as found on this website. We should all be thankful for their sacrifices and willingness to share their accounts with us.

I appreciate the information on my uncle. Even though his mother ( my Grandmother: Nellie Fern Trueman ) told me about him she was always a little guarded in her story telling. I hope to find out some information on Delberts brother Dale, who also lost his life in this terrible war. If there is anyone who may be able to shed some light on my uncle Dale; above and beyond what I may have heard, I would love to hear from you at the above address.

I am the brother of S/Sgt Edward Papierniak who was a crew member on "Round Trip Rosie".On 2-23-44 they were shot down while on a mission to Steyr, Austria. The pilot, Lou Samsa and the top turrent gunner Bob Breneman were the only two survivours and spent the rest of the war as POW's.
