Robert S. Jones, LT COL retired, 723 Squadron, passed away on Veterans' Day, 11/11/06 at the age of 84.
He acquired 51 mission credits as B-24 pilot from July/August 1944 to April 1945 while in Manduria, Italy, Crew # 4318.
As an interesting side note- the last words that my Dad clearly spoke to me, while I was encouraging him to carry on the fight for survival were,
" Nothing Can Stop the Army Air Corps".
Rather than survive on life support, we honored his request to let him go on into the "wild blue yonder" and he will always be with us in our hearts.

Best regards always,
David K. Jones
