James Knuckles

James David Knuckles MATTHEWS - James David Knuckles, 88, of Matthews, passed away on Sunday at Hospice House of Monroe.
Sgt. Knuckles was born on October 22, 1923 in Bassett, VA, son of the late Leonard and Nell Stanley Knuckles. Daughter, Carolyn Conrad also preceded him in passing.
Sgt. Knuckles was a graduate of Lincolnton High School and proudly served his Country in the US Air Force and was a POW. He was a man of strong faith and was a dedicated family man.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Christine Knuckles of Matthews; son, David Knuckles and wife Catherine of Charlotte; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
