Obituary for Andrew Roy Peterson, 89, of Boulder City, Nevada for 13 years.

Born April l7, 1920 in Anoka County, Minnesota To Fred & Gina (Mickelson) Peterson. Raised on their farm. Completed High School in Red Wing, Minn. In the class of 1938.
Enlisted in Army Air Corp. in l943. Flew 51 B-24 combat missions in European theater in 1944 including the oil fields of Ploesti, Rumania.
His next assignment was in the USA Air Transport Command from which he was discharged in 1947.
From the US Air Force Reserves Captain Peterson was recalled for 2 years active state slide duty during the Korean War flying B-36 reconnaissance.

Andy was a professional photographer until hired as copilot for PSA.
In 1955 he moved his family to Las Vegas to fly for Bonanza Air Lines. He retired after 21 years as DC-9 Captain.

Retired for 33 years. The last 13 in Boulder City where he was active volunteer in the BC Senior center and Community Club. Charter member of the VFW Post in BC.

Preceded in death by brothers Arvid, Hjalmer, George, Floyd, & Edgar & beloved sister, Gerda Borgen. & Bess (Larsen) Peterson, mother of his 3 children.
Survived by wife of 38 years, Sharon Peterson, daughters Nancy Vetrano, of Sacramento, California, Sandra Bacon, of Henderson Nevada, son & daughter-in-law, Drew & Amy Peterson, of Aztec, New Mexico, grand children, Gina Vetrano, & Joseph Vetrano of Sacramento, California, sister-in-law, Florence Peterson of Minnesota.

Services will be held at the So. Nevada Veteran's Memorial Chapel Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11:20 AM.
Lunch will be at Bethany Baptist church 210 Wyoming, in Boulder City.
Contributions to favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
